Our dream is that our children start life well, finish it well, and have many wonderful, problem-free years in between. Unfortunately, that is usually a dream. Our reality is that many of our children and adolescents encounter problems not of their own making, which, if not adequately resolved, bring a life of pain and difficulty.
 
 Parents and caregivers can handle most problems but sometimes even they do not know how to help. For problems like that, expert intervention and encouragement by a skilled and caring counselor can be tremendously helpful.
